Sent Out: Bolivia!

This is a picture me with our Bolivian friend Diana. She was an international student Kourtney and I met while prayer walking on campus in January. She had come from Bolivia just the day before and was lost looking for a the bus! We took her to meet our team for lunch, and our community sort of adopted her for the semester. She started coming to our college lifegroup, volunteered in Kids Community on Sunday mornings and was a part of our lives.

Diana had grown up Catholic and in a very loving home. She knew a lot about God before she came to OU, and as a community, we really got to see her faith take flight while she was here. We taught her how to spend time with God by reading her Bible and praying, and she learned a lot through talking with people from our church. She grew to love lifegroup and would often talk about it with her father back home. He assured her they could begin a group like that in their home once she returned!

Some girls and I were able to walk her through the Antioch discipleship lessons (7 simple lessons based on scripture that open up discussion and foundational understanding on the Christian life). Before she left for home (thanks to Becca and Katie!), she had completed all 7 lessons. With excitement and childlike faith, Diana returned home to Bolivia and greatly anticipated sharing all she had learned with her family and friends. Thanks to amazing Antioch Waco, we had copies of the lessons in Spanish, and Diana hopes to begin taking people through the lessons in Bolivia! We will all miss sweet Diana, but we are so thankful that God has sent her back to make an impact on her community.
