Retreat to the Lake

In the past month, our church plant team has acquired four new team members (two families) and their three small children! Grant and Rachel served with the youth at Antioch in Waco and have joined our team to help get our youth group started. We are so blessed to have them! Also, Jason and Ashley have moved to join our team from the church plant in Portland. Jason is attending law school here at OU and they both hope to see social justice movements established in our church plants and among the nations of the earth! How exciting is that?!

Each new addition to a team adds a new dimension and new dynamic, so last weekend we took a retreat to Lake Eufaula (along with four awesome babysitters to help maintain the 11 team kids all 6 and under!) to grow closer as a team. Pictured above Terrance and Nikki ride the whale pulled behind the boat with the oldest kids. Once the whale was out of the safety of the boat dock, Jake, the dad of three on the whale and driver of the boat, made every attempt to knock the kids in the water. He soon succeeded and, in succession starting with Traci, they all began to cry.
Kourtney: (suprised at the tears of her 6 year old who is an excellent swimmer) "Why are you crying?"
Kooper: "I don't know, everyone else is!"

It was a MUCH needed rest and refreshment time for all and we are ready again to hit the ground running!
