It is Sunday again, and I can't believe we have already had four Sunday services! I think I am just beginning to get use to the new rhythm of life; the biggest change being that Sunday is no longer a day off!
We started scripture memory verses with the kids in class, and they constantly amaze me!
Just today in class, Nate (3 years old) recited for me the entire scripture from last week complete with scripture reference (and it was a hard reference too! 2 Corinthians 9:7!!!) On top of that, Caleb (2 years old) came in singing his verse AND reference! There was not a single child in my preschool class of eight who didn't know their verse from the week before! I know they may not understand these scriptures in depth, they are building a firm foundation to stand on and a moral compass that will guide their lives.
I just can't help but think, what are these kids going to be like when they are my age? How many scriptures will they have written on their hearts if they continue to do this? The Bible talks about the word of God being like a sword (Ephesians 6:17), and I want these kids to be as equipped as possible to be able to fight back the things this world throws at them.
