Releasing Kids In the Holy Spirit

As I look back to last semester with the kids at church, we have seen a trickle of kids being released in the gifts of the spirit. Through the lives of our volunteers being reproduced in the lives of the children, they are beginning to believe God for the supernatural, pray for the sick, and share their faith with others. Beginning at the end of this month we will start a new unit with the elementary-aged kids on the gifts of the spirit (1 Corinthians 12). Please pray for us!

This concept of releasing kids into giftings was awakened to me when I attended the Bethel children's conference. This past December at the OneThing conference at IHOP we were praying for people around us when a 14 year old girl came up to us. She was so filled with the Holy Spirit! As we prayed and dialogued with her she introduced us to her 11 year old little brother who was standing off to the side just watching the ministry time. We prayed and prophesied over him and encouraged/ released him to go and pray for people - emphasizing that he is not too young and he too can be a part!

He stood up from us praying for him, shrugged his shoulders as if to say, "well that sounds easy!" and immediately started walking around praying for people. We thought, "that's just great. what a sweet young man."... that is until we watched him minister to people! You see, as he was laying hands on people, they were falling over under the power of the Holy Spirit! They were probably just as suprised as we were! More Lord!
